American Odyssey Relay 2019

From April 26-27, 2019, SK&A’s Legs of Steel team competed in the American Odyssey Relay, a 200-mile race starting in Gettysburg, PA and ending at the Southwest Waterfront in Washington, DC.  Teams of up to 12 runners participate in the annual race, which is divided into 36 legs of various distances.  The teams are required to complete the entire relay in about 35-36 hours while maintaining a pace of 10:15 to 10:30 per mile.  Portions of the proceeds from the relay will be donated to charities such as Hope Connections for Cancer Support and Team Red, White & Blue.

The SK&A Legs of Steel team included runners: Principal – Walid Choueiri; Project Managers – Ananth Avadhani, Catherine Pastoor, and Jack Przywara;  Assistant Project Manager – Sarah Stocks; Project Engineers – Jonathan Gallis, James Grant, Frank Krech, Micah Tennant, and Sikandar Porter-Gill; and Kaitlyn O’Connor and Bailey Estes from GHT Limited.  SK&A team members Gabi Cohen and Janice Snyder also served as volunteers during the race.  The team finished the race in 29 hours, 53 minutes, and 12 seconds.
