Rony Paredes, BECxP, CxA+BE joined SK&A’s Structural Repair + Restoration Division in 2006 as a Project Engineer and has grown into his current role as Senior Associate, leading repair efforts for a wide range of façade, roof, plaza, balcony, waterproofing, and parking garage projects. His work includes condition surveys, repair drawings and specifications, field inspections, and construction-phase support for commercial, residential, and institutional properties throughout the region.
Over the past two decades, Rony has contributed to many notable projects, including a variety of projects at the Watergate East Condominium, Parc Somerset, Somerset House, Promenade Towers, Whitley Park and Skyline House where he has developed and nurtured long-term relationships with these residential properties. Other unique projects include façade repairs at the Embassy of the Republic of Botswana, plaster dome repairs for the Lincoln Theater, maintenance plan development for the Franciscan Monastery, roof replacement work at the Candler Building, and concrete repairs at the Three Mile Island Nuclear Plant. Similar to how the SK&A Repair + Restoration Division has diversified its services over the years, Rony has always been someone open to taking on new challenges and learning new skills, turning himself into a very versatile leader within our firm.
In recent years, Rony has stepped up as a leader in many ways, including being instrumental in helping with the start of our Atlanta office, serving on the Board of Directors of the local International Institute of Building Enclosure Consultants (IIBEC) chapter and supporting in-house committee work initiatives.
Known for his efficiency, responsiveness, and practical approach, Rony brings steady technical judgment to projects where existing conditions, owner expectations, and construction realities must be carefully aligned. He understands that one of the most important parts of repair and restoration consulting is supporting clear communication between owners, contractors, and project teams. He takes a similar approach when mentoring the project engineers and technicians on his projects through effective communication and being constantly available to address questions. If you want to know what Rony is all about, look no further than the art in Rony’s office that says “In this Office: We are Happy, We are Helpful, We Respect, We do Teamwork, We are Friends, We Communicate, We Have Fun, We do Coffee and Cake, We are a Team”.
“I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know Rony as a colleague and a friend over the past 20 years. I admire his energy and drive. His passion for trying new things goes beyond work as he somehow finds time to do painting, baking, dancing and gardening with whatever spare time he gets outside of work. He loves to stay busy and approaches everything with a smile and a positive attitude. I look forward to many more years of learning more about Rony as I’m sure he will continue to impress us with what he’s capable of doing.” ~ Brent Stephens, PE, Sr. Principal
