Spy Museum Groundbreaking

September 14, 2016 - 12:00pm
Washington, DC

SK&A team members Walid, Dan, Catherine, and Jonathan, attended the groundbreaking celebration for the new International Spy Museum site located adjacent to the L’Enfant Retail Atrium.  Over 120 people attended the extravagant event including DC Mayor Muriel Bowser, Milton Maltz, the Founder and Chairman of the Spy Museum,  members of City Council, Congress, and representatives of the development team.  As a surprise to many guests, there were former spies dispersed among the tables during the three-course luncheon, including former CIA operative Tony Mendez.  In addition, guests were able to sign a mockup of an actual structural steel member to be used in the new building.

The new Spy Museum building will be approximately 130,000 sf and will include museum exhibition, office, retail, classrooms, event spaces, a glass atrium at the western side, a new 1st floor (exterior plaza and interior lobby and retail space), and a rooftop terrace.
