Gabe initially joined our Repair and Restoration Group in a part-time role in June of 2025, but we were delighted to have him transition to a full-time Engineering Technician in September 2025. During his time here, he has supported condition assessments of existing structures through visual surveys, field measurements, repair quantity take-offs, and forensic testing.
Gabe’s project experience at SK&A has included façade, balcony, plaza, waterproofing, and testing assignments throughout the Washington metropolitan area. Among these are façade quality assurance services at Broadmoor Apartments, a balcony survey at Promenade Towers, plaza joint quality assurance services at 600–700 Army Navy Drive, exterior waterproofing investigative work at 1445 New York Avenue, core drilling and non-destructive evaluation testing at 725 12th Street, and most recently field functional performance testing at the Blairs Pad. During his first year, Gabe also earned his WACEL Concrete Field-Testing Level I accreditation.
With a Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering from The Cooper Union, Gabe has experience in building investigations and building enclosure field testing. He is interested in developing methodical procedures for reliably investigating and testing different types of construction. As he explained, he pursued structural engineering “to better understand the built environment and contribute to the knowledge needed for society to function safely.”
Outside of work, Gabe enjoys fishing, carpentry, and working on all things mechanical, including boats, bikes, cars, and trucks. He and his wife, Antonia, share their home with their dog, Sadie, and cat, Kenny.
Gabe, thank you for your hard work, curiosity, and willingness to take on a wide variety of assignments during your first year with SK&A. We are glad to have you on the team and look forward to seeing all that you continue to accomplish. Happy anniversary!
