SK&A joined hundreds of real estate and AEC professionals at The St. James in Springfield, VA, for the annual Breakthrough T1D Real Estate Games, a high-energy, all-day competition supporting research for type 1 diabetes (T1D). This year’s event raised more than $57,000 toward finding a cure and advancing treatments for T1D.
The event brings together AEC firms from across the Mid-Atlantic for a friendly showdown across nearly 30 events, ranging from athletic competitions to brain-teasers. Representing SK&A across multiple challenges, our team brought both spirit and skill to the Games.
Our highlights included:
- 2nd Place – Women’s Golf: Congratulations to Danna Anaya for hitting her shot just 14 feet from the flag!
- 2nd Place – Spin Competition: Great teamwork from Anda Shi, Catherine Pastoor, James Grant, Jonathan Gallis, and Walid Choueiri.
- Top Score – Scavenger Hunt: Our team, comprised of Danna Anaya, Sakshi Acharya, and Michael Muir, tied for the highest points earned.
- Top 8 Finish – Cornhole: Shoutout to Joe Perdue and Macenzie Smith for landing SK&A in the final rounds.
In addition to these wins, SK&A team members participated in a wide range of events, including Tower Power Jenga, Pickleball, Home Run Derby, Punt Pass & Kick, Basketball, Soccer Shootout, 50-Yard Freestyle Swim, and the fast-paced “Puzzle Me This” jigsaw race.
