Since joining SK&A in 2011, Janice has been a steady and trusted presence within the firm, leading SK&A’s accounting department with precision, professionalism, and dedication. Over those 15 years, she has supported SK&A through a wide range of changes and challenges, including CPA transitions, HR and accounting system transitions, payroll outsourcing, banking changes, department staffing and reorganization, the transition from three companies to two, and even the organization of the accounting file room during our prior office move, a task she is once again helping lead as we prepare for our upcoming renovation.
Janice also played an important role in helping the firm navigate the PPP loan and FFCRA programs during COVID and has supported a number of other key initiatives over the years, including Project Classifications, R&D Tax Credit implementation, and the Contract Management & Audit Program. Through it all, Janice has brought sound judgment, follow-through, and a real sense of ownership to her work and to the leadership of the accounting department. Her efforts have helped keep our financial operations running smoothly and have supported the strong foundation that helps our teams succeed every day.
“Janice is known for the way she shows up every day — with a positive attitude, a smile on her face, and a willingness to help others. She has been a patient teacher, a trusted resource, and a positive presence within the firm. Her upbeat personality and genuine care for others have made a lasting impact on our culture and on the people she has worked with over the years, myself included.”
~ Scott B. Stewart, PE, SE, Managing Principal
Her spirit of service also extends beyond the office. Janice has supported the arts through volunteer work with the Hippodrome Theatre in Baltimore and previously served on the Finance Committee for Comfort Cases, reflecting the same generosity and commitment that she brings to SK&A.
