Silver sponsorship, team participation, and a third-place finish for our DC office.
This year, SK&A was pleased to participate as a Silver Sponsor of the 2026 Big Green Commute, a week-long regional commuting challenge hosted by ZGF Architects. Held each May in coordination with Bike to Work Week, the challenge encourages DC-area commuters to choose greener ways to get to work, including walking, biking, carpooling, public transportation, and electric vehicle use.
We are excited to share that the SK&A DC team placed third in the Small Office category. The awards were announced during the Big Green Commute reception on July 8.
Special recognition goes to Danna Anaya, who served as SK&A’s team leader for this year’s challenge. Thank you, Danna, for helping organize and encourage our team throughout the initiative. Thank you as well to all of our other SK&A participants: Maurice O’Connor, PE, Zachary D. Shugart, PE, Anna Bohlmann, EIT, Scott B. Stewart, PE, SE, James Chavin-Grant, PE, SE, CDT, Nima Arjomandnia, PE, PMP, J. David Pirnia, PE, Anda Shi, PE, and Sakshi Acharya.
SK&A enjoyed the opportunity to come alongside our clients and industry partners in this effort, celebrating the small daily choices that can add up to a meaningful regional impact. We are grateful to ZGF Architects for continuing to bring the AEC community together around practical, people-powered ways to support a greener future.
