Celebrating Sakshi’s
1st Year at SK&A

July 29, 2024

Sakshi Acharya is a Structural Engineer with SK&A’s Design group in our Washington, DC office. In just her first year here, she has already made valuable contributions to several projects, including:

  • Georgetown University Henle Student Housing in Washington, DC
  • 12500 Ardennes Avenue in Rockville, MD
  • Waterfront Station Phase IV at 375 M Street, SW, Washington, DC
  • Thomas Elementary School Modernization in Washington, DC

Sakshi completed her master’s degree in Structural Engineering at Lehigh University. While at Lehigh, she participated in Engineers Without Borders and the America Reads/America Counts community outreach program.

Sakshi grew up in Kathmandu, Nepal, and speaks English, Nepali, and Hindi. She recalls, “I was five when it was explained to me that buildings, bridges, and cities were built – they didn’t merely exist. That moment unlocked a curiosity and a yearning to learn. I have been continuously driven to nurture my fascination with how things work. As I grew up, I began to understand the significance of structural engineering and how it was the essence of the cities where we live, work, and play.”

“It has been a pleasure to work alongside Sakshi this past year.  She continuously demonstrates an eagerness to learn, and has proven to be an efficient, dependable engineer willing to take on any challenges given.”
