We are pleased to see Dix Street Residences featured in a recent Multi-Housing News article, recognizing the grand opening of this important new affordable housing community in Washington, DC’s Ward 7.
Developed through a public-private partnership, Dix Street Residences will offer 47 units of affordable housing for seniors and multigenerational “grandfamilies.” The four-story, 48,000 square foot building is designed with sustainability in mind—featuring a high-performance building envelope, energy-efficient lighting and HVAC systems, and on-site solar panels over a green roof to help offset energy use. The project is a significant step toward providing safe, high-quality, and connected housing options for aging residents and extended families.
SK&A served as the Structural Engineer of Record, working closely with MCN Build, Torti Gallas + Partners, Atlantic Pacific Communities, and Nix Development Company to bring the building to life. We extend our congratulations to our project partners and to our own team members Walid Choueiri, PE, SE, David Stringer, PE, and Danna Anaya for their dedicated work.
