Macenzie grew up in Altoona, PA and earned an Integrated Bachelor/Master of Architectural Engineering with a Structural Option from the Pennsylvania State University, where she won first place on her senior thesis capstone project. She was also recently awarded the 2024 Penn State Alumni Society of Architectural Engineers (ASAE) Early Career Award!

Macenzie has been instrumental in shaping the vibrant workplace culture of SK&A. Her natural tendencies to organize and lead initiatives of all kinds, professional or social, combined with an empathetic and supportive attitude have made her a wheel hub at SK&A. She has taken on initiatives that enhanced employee experience at SK&A such as the reorganization of our firm’s electronic library and our physical library, serving several years as team captain for the annual JDRF fundraising sports team, twice initiating and leading the organization of a STEM-themed “Take your child to work day,” serving as an active member of the SK&A Fun Committee, and being a passionate past champion of our firm’s fantasy football league. Macenzie also initiated and led an internship program at SK&A, is an active member of SK&A’s Focus Groups for the Education, Mixed Use, and Multifamily market sectors, and has served on the SEA-MW Gala committee for several years in various roles including as the chairperson.

Not to be lost among all her volunteer initiatives is Macenzie’s organized, focused, and persistent commitment to her professional growth as a structural engineer and leader in our firm and industry. Macenzie has obtained her structural engineer (SE) license and has become a resource to our clients and many in the firm.  Macenzie’s work ethic and ambition originate from her upbringing and the values instilled in her in her youth. From aiding in her parent’s pool contracting business as a teenager and young adult to providing care and being the best older sister one can ask for to her two younger brothers, Macenzie developed some of the key values and traits that she applies daily in her professional career.

“It is an understatement to say it has been a pleasure to work alongside Macenzie these past ten years. She is the type of person who spreads positivity wherever she goes, uplifting her colleagues and clients alike. Macenzie, on behalf of all of us at SK&A, thank you for everything you have done for the company. It would not be the same without you. We look forward to many more years to come.”
