On June 22, 2023, CBG Building Company threw the Topping Out party for The Iris multifamily high-rise building in the NoMa neighborhood of Washington, DC.
SK&A Structural Engineers joined MRP Realty, Moya Design Partners, Bowman, Oculus, Power Design, and Geotechnical Solutions, Inc. for the celebration.
Located on the DC Housing Authority headquarters site, The Iris, a 14-story, 430-unit structure, is the first building in the multi-phase 1133 North Capitol Development. The 380,000 SF post-tensioned concrete building has two levels of below-grade parking, housing units with 9-foot ceilings, and rooftop views of the Capitol and Washington Monument. It is slated for a November 2024 completion and targets LEED Gold certification.
