Each January, the Washington Building Congress (WBC) invites local AEC professionals to judge WBC members’ projects for recognition in the Craftsmanship Awards. SK&A Structural Engineers was pleased to, once again, have team members serve as judges for this year’s competition. Tony Sadr, PE and Ammar Motorwala, PE were judges for projects in the concrete category, evaluating various specialty concrete finishes as well as some bare structural concrete work. James Chavin-Grant, PE, SE, CDT judged projects in the steel category and says he enjoyed getting to know some of the subcontractors we work with often.
The teams of judges met at Maggiano’s in Tysons Corner, Virginia for breakfast, then spent the day visiting several project sites. After submitting their evaluation forms, the judges returned to Maggiano’s for the WBC Winter Networking event.
The project awards will be announced at the WBC Craftsmanship Awards Banquet on April 5, 2024.
