SK&A was honored to join hundreds of other AEC professionals from the Mid-Atlantic region to raise money for Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) research by competing in the 2024 Breakthrough T1D (formerly JDRF) Real Estate Games. Since its founding in 1990, these events have raised over $15 million for diabetes research! This year’s games alone have raised over $600,000 thus far.
The 2024 Games took place at Saint James in Springfield, Virginia. SK&A staff competed in a variety of events including the Scavenger Hunt, Tower Power Jenga, Corn Hole, Golf, Pickleball, the Ropes Course, Volleyball, “Punt, Pass, and Kick,” Basketball, and “Puzzle Me This” (a jigsaw puzzle-solving race!) Our team won first place in Pickleball, placed third in Puzzle Me This, and was the fastest to complete the Scavenger Hunt!
Special thanks to all of our SK&A team members who volunteered their time, to take part in this fun and meaningful day: Ammar Motorwala, Anda Shi, Brandon Hackey, Brent Stephens, Catherine Pastoor, David Pirnia, David Stringer, Gino Biagioni, Katie Bevington, Macenzie Smith, Maurice O’Connor, Megan Dulmaine, Michael Muir, Naina Bhanot (Team Leader), Walid Choueiri, Zachary Shugart, and Zifan Ye.
