The ULI Washington Awards celebrate “outstanding contributions to development in the Washington Region…recognizing projects and initiatives that foster vibrant neighborhoods, employ creative problem-solving, and exemplify visionary leadership.”
As described in the ULI Washington Awards Program, “The Wray seamlessly blends bygone craftsmanship with luxury amenities designed for modern life. The eight-story, pre-war building has an intriguing history. Originally designed in the 1940’s as residential apartments, the building was acquired by the United States government during World War II, and ultimately spent decades as offices for the State Department. Today, it has been thoughtfully revived into a 158-unit apartment building comprised of one- and two-bedroom units…” (2023 Project Awards, washington.uli.org)
