J. Brent
Stephens, PE

A member of SK&A’s Structural Repair and Restoration Division, Brent Stephens, PE, joined the firm in 1999 and previously served as a Project Engineer, Project Manager and Associate during his tenure with the firm. With a career spanning 15 years, Brent specializes in the evaluation, installation and repair of building façades, balconies, parking garages, plazas and roofs including the repair of corrosion-related deterioration, waterproofing needs and other structural-related deficiencies. Through an in depth and diverse background, he is also experienced in bridge rehabilitation, concrete deck and steel girders, and the development of enhanced concrete mix designs for enhanced performance and durability  for various applications.

Brent has earned two Civil Engineering degrees – his Master of Science in Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin in 1999, Suma Cum Laude and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Virginia in 1997 with the Highest Distinction. Registered as a Professional Engineer in Maryland and Virginia (and others through NCEES), he also is a certified WACEL Structural Inspector and an active member of the International Concrete Repair Institute (ICRI), the American Concrete Institute (ACI) and the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). In 2004 and 2005, Brent received national awards from ICRI for plaza and garage rehabilitation project work.
