We’re incredibly proud of our SK&A DC teammates who embraced the challenge to execute a greener commute! The Big Green Commute competition, hosted by ZGF Architects, is a week-long event coinciding with Bike to Work Week. It incentivizes eco-friendly commutes through walking, biking, carpooling, public transportation, and electric vehicle use.
“The competition was founded on the belief that change can be affected at a personal and community level” (biggreencommute.com).
We are thrilled to announce that the SK&A team earned 2nd place in the small office category. The awards were presented during a reception at the ZGF office on June 27th.
Special recognition goes to SK&A Associate David Pirnia, PE, who pedaled from Anacostia to Dupont Circle and back every day, demonstrating extraordinary commitment to the cause. We also extend our gratitude to Assistant Project Manager Sebastian Jongerius, PE, for leading the charge, and to all our dedicated colleagues who participated: Scott Stewart, PE, SE, Joe Uchno, PE, Nima Arjomandnia, PE, PMP, James Chavin-Grant, PE, SE, CDT, Maurice O’Connor, PE, Zachary Shugart, EIT, Danna Anaya, Anna Bohlmann, EIT, Gino Biagioni, Jr., and Xavier McGruder.
Thank you all for making this a success and for your commitment to a greener future!
