Competing for a Good Cause: SK&A Participates in 2017 JDRF Real Estate Games

June 1, 2017

For the 11th consecutive year, The SK&A Group (SK&A) participated in the JDRF Real Estate Games held at American University in Washington, DC.  SK&A was involved as a gold-level sponsor in support of JDRF’s mission to find a cure for type 1 diabetes (T1D).  The SK&A team consisted of 21 competitors, participating in a variety of sporting events: men’s tennis, chair hockey, foosball, table tennis, raft race, corn hole, men’s 4x100 relay, volleyball, big trike derby, big ball, obstacle course, puzzle me this, minute to win it, heads of office, and three point contest.

Overall, the team enjoyed their time at the games putting forth strong efforts in their events.  Some notable accomplishments from this year’s games include a third place and semifinal finish in the foosball competition and a second place finish in the big trike derby.  Steven Wiemeler, a Project Manager with the firm, said “We donate our time, have fun in the sun, strengthen old bonds and make new ones, raise a tremendous amount of cash to fund the cure for T1D, and blazon the company name.  The Games are a win-win.”
