The DC Bilingual Public Charter school addition is nearly complete! This school, which opened in 2004, provides an innovative dual immersion Spanish and English learning program for all students, regardless of their home language. Due to ever increasing demand for bilingual education, the school partnered with SK&A Structural Engineers, HCM Architects, and Gilbane Building Company to design and construct this 27,965 SF addition. This new space includes an expanded gym, updated art and music spaces, new lab for science and culinary instruction, new computer lab, and new library space.
SK&A Principal Josh Woolcock, PE, LEED AP and Asst. Project Manager James Grant, PE, SE, CDT have led the structural engineering design for this school addition. You can monitor the progress of the final phases of construction through the school’s live camera feed linked here.
