Associate Principal

Daniel J. Cocciardi, PE, SE, a member of the SK&A team since 2006, serves as an Associate Principal and trusted technical lead for complex structural projects from early design through construction. His portfolio spans commercial office buildings, residential structures, parking facilities, museums, embassies, and specialty structures; and includes award-winning work such as the International Spy Museum, Bridge District Parcels 3 & 4 (Stratos, Poplar House, and Alula), and the Royal Norwegian Embassy Renovation. Known for his technical depth and broad experience across project types, Dan brings clarity to challenging structural issues and helps teams maintain forward momentum. He believes the best outcomes come from actively involving and engaging every member of the project team—internally and externally—to develop thoughtful solutions that support both performance and bold architectural expression.

  • Repositioning of existing assets with adaptive re-use and large-scale renovations, as well as vertical expansions, using various structural systems
  • Blast assessment studies, special dynamic and seismic analyses of high-rise structures, and analysis and design of vibrationally-sensitive structures
