We are delighted to share this special feature from the Structural Engineers Association – Metropolitan Washington (SEA-MW) chapter, highlighting Sakshi Acharya.
Sakshi is a Structural Engineer with SK&A’s DC Design group. SK&A staff have long been supporters of and active participants in SEA-MW. We are very proud of Sakshi for carrying on that legacy through her service in the SEA-MW Younger Members Group and on the Awards and Galas Committee.

Introducing Sakshi Acharya, a dedicated structural engineer originally from Nepal, who moved to the U.S. to further her education. Sakshi earned both her Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering and Master’s in Structural Engineering from Lehigh University in 2023. During her time at Lehigh, her involvement with Engineers Without Borders fueled her passion for community-focused, impactful projects.
Now based in the DMV area, Sakshi is part of SK&A’s New Design team, where she has contributed to a variety of commercial, residential, and educational developments. She’s also an active member of SEA-MW, playing key roles in the Young Members Group and the SEA-MW Awards and Gala Committee.
When she’s not working, Sakshi loves exploring new places, getting lost in a good book, and strumming her ukulele.
We’re proud to have Sakshi in the SEA-MW YMG and can’t wait to see her continued growth and success in the engineering community!
