On November 21, 2024, SK&A’s Macenzie Smith, PE, SE, and Jessica Wakeman, PE, SE, attended the Twinbrook Project Completion Celebration hosted by Saul Centers. Held in the stunning 12th-floor clubroom of “The Milton at Twinbrook Quarter,” the event marked a significant milestone for this transformative mixed-use development in Rockville, MD. The celebration brought the project team together, including Saul Centers, Clark Construction, Torti Gallas + Partners, and HOK, to recognize the successful completion of the first phase of this ambitious project.
As the Structural Engineer for Twinbrook Quarter, SK&A played a key role in the planning, design, and construction of this 12-story mixed-use tower. Phase I features 452 apartment units, 30,000 square feet of retail, and an 80,000-square-foot Wegmans grocery store slated to open in late 2025. The building’s parking podium supports the tower and sets the foundation for a planned office space expansion. With its strategic location along Rockville Pike and proximity to the Twinbrook Metro Station, this transit-oriented development is set to become a vibrant hub of activity, blending residential, retail, and office spaces with community amenities like parks and trails.
We are proud to have contributed to a project that redefines suburban development into a pedestrian-friendly, urban environment. Kudos to our SK&A engineering team members—Walid Choueiri, PE, SE, Jessica Wakeman, PE, SE, and Macenzie Smith, PE, SE—for their expertise and dedication to making this vision a reality!
