“Howard University’s Office of Real Estate Development and Capital Asset Management (REDCAM) has chosen several visionary architecture and engineering teams to support its largest and most transformative academic projects,” writes Misha Cornelius in Howard University’s The Dig blog. (Read the full article by Howard University here.)
Among the major capital projects described in the article are the STEM Center and the Center for Fine Arts and Communications, two projects for which SK&A will serve as the Structural Engineer.
STEM Center
The Dig blog goes on to describe the STEM Center saying “Linked physically and academically to the Health Sciences Complex is the STEM Center, which will house physics, chemistry, biology, engineering, and mathematics programs and their associated labs.” SK&A looks forward to working alongside Perkins&Will, R. McGhee & Associates, and KDA on this project.
Center for Fine Arts and Communications
Howard University selected Kishimoto Gordon Dalaya (KGD), and Moody Nolan Architects to design the new Center for Fine Arts and Communications. KGD shares more about this project on their website, describing the project as “a new state-of-the-art academic facility that will house the Chadwick A. Boseman College of Fine Arts.” (View the full article by KGD here.)
