ENR Mid-Atlantic 2024 Awards

October 25, 2024

Three SK&A projects were honored in the ENR MidAtlantic 2024 Regional Best Projects competition: The Bard High School Early College, 20 Massachusetts Avenue, and Supernal Innovation Center. Two panels of industry judges reviewed 75 regional projects located in Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia and the District of Columbia. Projects were assessed based on the project team’s ability to overcome challenges, their contributions to the industry and community, safety, and construction and design quality. The awards luncheon took place on October 25th at the Baltimore Marriott Inner Harbor at Camden Yards, where SK&A team members who contributed to these award-winning projects joined to celebrate and personally congratulate our clients and industry partners. 20 Massachusetts Avenue Wins Best Project in Office/Retail/Mixed-Use

Congratulations to The RMR Group and LEO A DALY, and to DPR Construction, who submitted this project for the award.

After spending most of its 50-year history as office space for the federal government, the new 425,433 square foot mixed use development will feature a 274-room Royal Sonesta Hotel, ground floor retail, and Class A office space. SK&A’s work at this site began early on, in 2019, with testing and inspection services to investigate the existing structure. Later, in 2021, we performed a garage condition survey and developed specifications for potential repairs. We then went on to serve as the Structural Engineer of Record for the massive addition and renovation. Learn more.
