Celebrating Scott’s 20 Years with SK&A

October 17, 2025

Over the past two decades, Scott Stewart, PE, SE, has strengthened the firm through both technical excellence and people-focused leadership, shaping landmark projects and mentoring the next generation of engineers.

Scott began his career with SK&A in 2005 as an Associate, quickly advancing to Principal in 2009, and then serving as our Managing Principal since 2022. In this role, he leads our management team, guiding the firm’s overall direction and future strategy while championing the development of emerging talent.

During his career, Scott has led the design of major multi-building developments, complex renovations, and transformative adaptive reuse projects.   He has made significant contributions to the firm’s portfolio of work and was instrumental in building our K-12 Education and Higher-Ed sectors.  Signature projects include DC Water Headquarters, 55 M Street, and Dunbar High School. His leadership has been recognized with industry honors, including multiple SEA-MW Outstanding Project Awards.

Scott’s impact extends well beyond project delivery, encompassing leadership roles in the structural engineering community as past Chairperson and Director of SEA-MW and as a member of Catholic University’s Civil Engineering Advisory Council. His perspective as the first in his family to attend college underpins his passion for education, mentorship, and opening pathways for others.

Away from work, Scott embraces the outdoors as a source of challenge and relaxation. He has hiked significant portions of the Appalachian Trail across multiple states and continues to add new segments each year. He also enjoys time on the golf course, highlighted by a memorable hole-in-one at last year’s DPGA Summer League.  As a grandfather, father, and husband, he enjoys spending time with his growing family and embraces all the new adventures it brings.

Please join us in congratulating Scott on his 20 years with SK&A. His vision, mentorship, and dedication continue to inspire colleagues and strengthen the legacy of our firm.
