The Standard at College Park

The Standard at College Park is a nine-story off-campus housing complex for students at the University of Maryland. The building features 282 units with 6,670 sf of ground floor retail along with rooftop amenities, a fitness center, academic lounge, computer lab, three courtyards, and study rooms.

The housing complex included the installation of conventionally and post-tensioned reinforced concrete, reinforced masonry, structural steel, cold formed steel, and fireproofing.  Special inspections of the entire substructure and superstructure were performed along with a nondestructive examination (GPR) of the concrete slabs for the installation of all balcony guardrail posts.  In addition, special materials testing services included bolt and weld testing using nondestructive testing methods (Ultrasonic Testing).  The services were performed in accordance with the Third-Party Inspection Program of the Department of Permitting, Inspections and Enforcement (DPIE) in Prince George’s County, Maryland.
