Announcing Plans for Lincoln Memorial Renovation

April 06, 2023

Perhaps one of the most recognizable structures in DC, major upgrades are in the works for the Lincoln Memorial, but you’ll have to venture “beneath the surface” to enjoy them.

Plans include adding a museum underneath the Lincoln Memorial, new restrooms, and a larger bookstore. This $69 million National Park Service project is targeted for completion in 2026. Consigli Construction President, Matthew Consigli, remarked, “The Lincoln Memorial represents a transformative moment in our Nation’s history, and this work will allow visitors to experience its significance for generations to come” (Wang, 2023).

SK&A Structural Engineers is honored to be a part of the team working at this historic site. Working together with Consigli Construction, the SK&A team will be performing Testing and Inspections of Acoustical Ceiling Panels, Suspended Wood Ceilings, and Concrete Moisture. Our Testing and Inspections team members working on this project include Charles Mitchell, Antonio Ivory, Oscar Lopez, and Ahmad Khalilullah, EIT.
