Ahmed H. Al-Rahmani, PhD, PE, and David Orense, EIT, represented SK&A Structural Engineers at the ACI 2024 Concrete Convention, held in Philadelphia, PA. This global gathering of concrete industry professionals, organized by the American Concrete Institute (ACI), serves as a hub for advancing concrete materials, design, construction, and repair, offering attendees the opportunity to engage in committee meetings, technical sessions, and networking events.
Ahmed, a voting member of ACI Committee 123: Research and Current Developments and ACI Committee 441: Reinforced Concrete Columns, attended committee meetings to contribute to the development of industry standards and guidelines. He also moderated the ACI 123 Student Poster Session, continuing his active involvement in this role since 2021. In addition, Ahmed participated in technical sessions where students, academics, and industry professionals presented innovative research and projects.
David, who co-chairs ACI Committee S806: Young Member Activities, engaged in committee meetings and sessions related to concrete repair and restoration, contributing to the exchange of ideas in this critical field.
