Celebrating Maurice’s
10th Year at SK&A

Maurice O’Connor, PE is an Assistant Project Manager with SK&A’s Design group in our Washington, DC office. Over the past ten years, he has made valuable contributions to a number of projects, including:

  • The DCHA HQ Site Redevelopment
  • The Wharf Phase 2 Parcels 6 & 7
  • DC Office of Public Records and Archives
  • Half and N Streets SE, Mixed-Use
  • Chemonics HQ, The Yards Parcel G
  • 1000 S Capitol St. SE Apartments
  • DC International Public Charter School

Maurice grew up in Alexandria, Virginia, and served as an Intelligence Specialist 1st Class in the U.S. Navy from 2001 to 2007. Following his service, he pursued his passion for engineering, earning a Bachelor of Science in Civil and Infrastructure Engineering, Magna Cum Laude, from George Mason University and a Master of Science in Civil and Environmental Engineering with a Structural Focus from The George Washington University.

Beyond his professional achievements, Maurice is dedicated to giving back to his community. He volunteers regularly with Rebuilding Together, contributes his athletic skills to the annual Breakthrough T1D (formerly known as JDRF) Real Estate Games supporting diabetes research, and recently showcased his leadership by guiding our company’s CANstruction team to win the Structural Ingenuity Award at the Washington Architecture Foundation event benefitting the Capital Area Food Bank.

It has been a pleasure to work alongside Maurice these past ten years.  Maurice joined us with an extensive background in construction administration and field work, skills he continues to leverage yielding successful project execution and client satisfaction.  He has continued to build his design expertise across SK&A’s project types and has become proficient in managing many of our TFO projects.  Maurice continuously demonstrates an eagerness to grow and has proven to be a dependable engineer willing to take on any assignments given.
