Celebrating Austin’s 1st Year at SK&A

February 06, 2024

Austin Mitchell is an Engineering Technician with the Repair + Restoration group. In just a year, he has already made valuable contributions to several projects, including:

  • The Standard at College Park Ground Penetrating Radar Services
  • WMATA New Carrollton Station Garage Rehabilitation
  • 1990 M Street Garage Repairs Quality Assurance during Construction
  • Alexandria House Transformer Room Repairs Quality Assurance during Construction
  • Somerset Clubhouse Pool Deck Quality Assurance during Construction

Austin grew up in Joppa, Maryland and attended the University of Maryland College Park, where he completed his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. Prior to joining SK&A, Austin worked as a Project Management Intern for Structural Preservation Services. While there, he performed work on one of the tallest buildings in Baltimore, chipping out old concrete joints and re-laying decorative cornices for the historic structure.

“It has been a pleasure to work with and get to know Austin over this past year. Among his many admirable qualities, Austin has shown himself willing to take on new tasks, gaining experience over a wide variety of R+R projects. His eagerness to learn both the in-office and onsite aspects of the Repair Division (e.g., specifications, CADD, GPR scanning, core drilling, surveying, inspections, waterproofing, etc.), along with his inquisitive nature towards projects will take him far.”
