Celebrating 20 Years
With Antonio Paz

Antonio Paz joined SK&A in 2006 as a Project Engineer and has grown alongside the firm for two decades.

Today, as an Associate and leader within our Repair and Restoration Division, Antonio is known for being a problem solver, great collaborator and strong communicator with his peers, clients, contractors, and design partners.  With his expertise in existing building work, Antonio understands the value of responsiveness and performing quick and frequent site visits as needed to address challenges and ensure project success.

Throughout his career at SK&A, Antonio has provided investigation, design, and consulting services for a wide range of structural and waterproofing challenges, tenant build-outs, strengthening projects, and building rehabilitations.

His portfolio includes meaningful projects such as:

  • Circle Towers Garage and Plaza Rehabilitation
  • Constitution Center Building and Garage Rehabilitation
  • Montebello Condominium Balcony and Façade Repairs
  • Bowman Andros Manufacturing Plant Structural Review
  • John Carlyle Street Garage Repairs
  • Wardman Tower Garage and Historic Pier Repairs

Engineering is a family tradition for Antonio, with his father, both grandfathers, and an uncle all practicing in civil or structural engineering. He was born in Cartagena, Colombia, and raised in Brasilia, Brazil, before coming to the United States for college. He earned both his Bachelor of Science in Civil and Environmental Engineering and his Master of Engineering in Construction Engineering and Project Management from the University of Michigan.

Outside the office, Antonio enjoys playing soccer, traveling, and playing the guitar. He is married, with two feline “kids,” and remains closely connected to his roots in Cartagena and Brasilia.

It has been a pleasure getting to know Antonio as a colleague and friend over the past 20 years.  His approachable, supportive and jovial nature helps establish the positive culture that we value here at SK&A.  He embraces our core value of Thriving Together as he is a team player that cares about his co-workers and wants to see them succeed.

“I admire Antonio’s adaptability as he went from an engineer who primarily focused on maintenance repairs of structures to developing expertise in the field of design/analysis related to existing building renovations including core drill reviews, slab infills, new stairs, partitions, etc.  He selflessly adjusts his capabilities based on firm needs.”

~ Brent Stephens, PE, Sr. Principal
