SK&A Led Sold-Out Site Tour of Upcoming Reston Station Residences

July 19, 2016

On July 12, 2016, SK&A Associate/Wood Specialist, Bing Rao together with KTGY, the Design Architect and Bozzuto, the Developer/Contractor, jointly led a sold-out site tour for WoodWorks of upcoming residences at the new mixed-use development, Reston Station.  The development is located near the Wiehle-Reston East Metro stop on the Silver Line and includes luxury, multi-family structures in addition to retail spaces and parking.  The residential complex will contain four to five-story, type III-A and V-A wood-frame construction, atop a ground-level type I-A concrete podium, and three levels of partially-underground concrete-frame parking.

Attendees were able to tour the construction site with members of the project team and get an in-depth look at a mid-rise, wood-frame project currently under construction.  Topics such as cost savings measures, detailing, and construction techniques were discussed.  The popular event was well received and exceeded WoodWorks’ expectations.  An additional tour will be arranged for late fall 2016.
