From Office to Urban Oasis—a behind-the-scenes look at the transformation of 1425 New York Avenue, NW from a former Department of Justice office into a vibrant residential community in the heart of Washington, DC. Discover how WDG Architecture, Foulger Pratt, and Clark Construction reimagined this 13-story, 280,000-square-foot building into the Accolade, a 243-unit urban retreat featuring panoramic rooftop views, a lush open-air courtyard, and sustainable design strategies. Learn how adaptive reuse turned structural challenges into opportunities, activated the streetscape, and contributed to the city’s housing goals while enhancing the downtown experience.
