Cindy began her career with SK&A in 2004 as a Project Engineer, embarking on a path that would see her rise to the position of Principal in 2023. Over these past two decades, Cindy has not only advanced within our firm but has also influenced its trajectory and reputation in structural repair and restoration.
Cindy earned her Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Maryland, then went on to earn her Master of Science in Civil Engineering with a Structural Emphasis from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Over the course of her 20 years with SK&A, Cindy has cultivated a specialized expertise in structural repair and restoration, particularly in waterproofing consulting and the renovation of facades, garages, and plazas. Her credentials as a licensed Professional Engineer are complemented by her accreditation as a Building Enclosure Commissioning Process Provider (BECxP) and a Commissioning Authority + Building Enclosure Knowledge Professional (CxA+BE.)
Cindy’s contributions to our projects and our team are numerous. Her work has earned several ICRI Outstanding Repair Project Awards, and she is a respected leader in the field, actively serving the International Concrete Repair Institute’s Baltimore-Washington Chapter.
As Cindy celebrates her 20th anniversary with SK&A, we recognize her not only for her professional achievements but also for her role in mentoring our next generation of engineers. Her contributions have been instrumental in enhancing our firm’s expertise in building enclosure commissioning and have expanded our service offerings, ensuring that SK&A remains at the forefront of the industry. Her ability to listen, understand, and address the needs of clients and colleagues alike has fostered strong, enduring relationships.
It has been a pleasure to have Cindy as a Partner in our Repair + Restoration Division for the past couple of years. As she has been throughout her 20-year career at SK&A, Cindy is always eager to learn something new and take on a challenge. Her intelligence, selflessness, patience, communication skills, and determination to solve any problem she faces make her an excellent leader. She clearly cares about the well-being of her co-workers and the company as a whole and has made great contributions to the continued improvement of our firm culture and operations. I look forward to many more years of working in tandem with Cindy.
