The Well at Oxon Run is now open to the public! The Well, managed by DC Greens, is an “intergenerational farm and community wellness space” that will offer a pick-your-own flower garden, herb and pollinator gardens, a chicken coop, farm stand, library, and even an amphitheater. This community gathering point will provide gardening classes for all ages. This one-acre site is located in Oxon Run Park in Ward 8. There are opportunities to volunteer for a shift “on the farm” or to use the venue for a company gathering.
SK&A’s involvement here commenced in 2019 when long-time client JBG began assembling a team of design partners to help make this vision a reality. The team, which also included WDG Architecture and SHoP Architects, donated generously of their time and talents. SK&A provided the structural design pro bono, as a way to give back to the DC community. The construction work was performed by local hands, with DC’s MCN Build as Contractor and MLG as Construction Manager.
