April 29th was National Rebuilding Day and Rebuilding Together teams around the country volunteered their time on home repair and rehabilitation projects that help low-income homeowners live in safety, warmth, and independence. Three of our SK&A staff joined with other members of SEA-MW (Structural Engineers of Metropolitan Washington) to make improvements on a home in DC.
Statement from SEA-MW:
“SEA-MW completed another year with Rebuilding Together in DC on Saturday, April 29th. We completed rebuilding a screened-in porch, replaced a sliding glass door, fixed damaged floor joists, secured loose railings, and removed tripping hazards on stairs with almost 30 volunteers. We were also grateful that our homeowner from last year came to visit us on this site and brought drinks and snacks for us.”
